Enable the transformation by supporting existing and new industries that are key to the transition.

Collaborate with governments and industry to influence and accelerate climate action.
Commit
We aim to achieve net zero emissions overall by 2050, to align with the Paris Agreement, and to halve our operations emissions by 2030.
Our plan includes reduction initiatives, such as minimised energy consumption and reducing corporate travel.
100% of the electricity in our Irish offices are sourced from renewable sources. In 2023, we reduced our office by 22% from 2019.
Adapt
We’re doubling down on helping people adapt to the effects of climate change. Our partners are exploring real, concrete solutions to make our communities, our people and our economy more resilient.
We are partnered with the Intact Centre for Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo in Canada. They provide practical guidance based on applied research to help people adapt to floods, wildfires and extreme heat.
Shape
We have the opportunity to shape climate-conscious behaviours
- Engage our customers: Through engaging customers and employees, we can raise climate awareness
- Leverage our platform: We can support climate-conscious practises through claims interactions and supply chain initiatives
- Utilise our expertise: Through Intact’s Centre on Climate Adaptation we can use pricing, underwriting, and data to enhance predictive models that will anticipate evolving climate-related impacts.
Enable
We’re playing an active role by supporting industries that are key to the transition.
In Ireland, we are a leading insurer of renewables.
Collaborate
At Intact we recognise that collaboration is key to sustainability. We collaborate with governments and industries to accelerate the most impactful climate solutions. We are doing this by:
- Demonstrating our commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a participant of the UN Global Compact

Barnardos
Intact have supported, and continue to support, our charity partner Barnardos across several initiatives including Give as You Earn employee contributions, volunteering, and fundraising projects. Barnardos work with over 26,000 children a year in Ireland, to help the most vulnerable children in society achieve their full potential - regardless of their family circumstances, their gender, race or disability.
Sanctuary Runners
We’re working with Sanctuary Runners, an incredible organisation that uses walking, jogging and running to promote solidarity, friendship, and respect for asylum seekers, migrants and refugees. At intact and 123.ie, we believe in making a positive change to the communities we serve. By teaming up with Sanctuary Runners, we’re supporting an initiative that fosters inclusion, positivity, and the power of sport to unite people.
